Hazardous material training is required for individuals whose job requires packaging, labeling, or complete shipping papers for hazardous materials shipments. This class addresses the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) that governs shipments of hazardous materials by air. Class topics include material identification, packaging requirements, labeling, and required documentation. Recurrent training is necessary every two years.
This training is for the shipping of chemical hazardous materials. The certification for shipping infectious substances, clinical specimens, genetically modified micro-organisms, and dry ice is now on-line and can be found at Biological Materials Shipping

The classes are held in the Environmental Health and Safety Center which is located off of Sullivan Drive on top of the hill behind the Administrative Services Building. Enter on the right side of the building (at the door labeled "Training Room Entrance") for all courses.
